Dear friends,
I was born on the island of Lesvos, the motherland of Theophrastus. For those who may not know it, Theophrastus was born in Eresos in Lesbos. He was the successor to Aristotle in the Peripatetic school. The interests of Theophrastus were wide ranging, extending from biology and physics to ethics and metaphysics. His two surviving botanical works, Enquiry into Plants[2] and On the Causes of Plants, were an important influence on medieval science. He is also known as the "father of botanology" a fact that make me really proud for the place I was born and live in.
When memories come to the past, to the times we were rushing to the fields every May 1st, I remember the green color of the grass and the fab smell of the oregano, thym, rosemary...
It took me a while to realize that not every garden has a bitter orange tree or a lemon tree...
Today, I know... After traveling a bit all over the globe, I decided to put together a few words for the herbs and plants of my home playground and share my experience with anyone interested...
